As the baby of the Kardashians, her lips have become as synonymous with her as her billion-dollar empire; we just couldn’t imagine how successful her cosmetics business would have become if it wasn’t for those infamous lips.

So she’s had them in, and then she’s had them out and now it seems they’re back in her lips again. What are we talking about? Kylie’s fillers. Judging from her before pictures, it doesn’t take Sherlock to figure out that some work has been done to get her lips the way they are. Fillers have become a very popular treatment to fill in and plump up areas on your face, to help regain a youthfulness to your appearance. However in Kylie’s case, it wasn’t aging that was her concern- she just wanted a fuller pout.

When it comes to lip fillers, it is a non-invasive treatment and are known to last anywhere from 4 to 12 months, depending on your metabolism. They are mostly made with either hyaluronic acid or collagen and can be absorbed by your body. Alternatively if for any reason you wish to get rid of the fillers after they have been injected, they can be easily dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, so this treatment is reversible too.

Botox, though often confused with fillers, can also be used to complement lip fillers to great effect. Botox can temporarily weaken or paralyze your muscles with results lasting for about 3 months. When Botox is injected in the lip area, it can help to minimize creases in the upper and lower lip area and elevate the corners of your mouth for a more youthful appearance. Botox is also effective in removing marionette lines, also commonly known as laugh lines, and enhancing the upper lip, sometimes known as the “Botox lip flip”. During such a treatment, the chemical relaxes the muscles around your lips and causes them to curl up which can cause lips to look larger without actually adding any volume. Fillers then come in if you’re looking to increase the plumpness of the lips.

If you’re already happy with the way your lips look and feel and looking for a little upkeep for a kiss-worthy pout, how about a little TLC for those kissers? Treat your lips to a session of Lip Fabulosity for a good cleaning that will leave them soft and healthy looking. Keep them hydrated and nourished with a daily dose (or 2) of Rose Quartz Lip treatment, staving off the signs of aging.
