What exactly is PDRN?
PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide, a chain of DNA fragments derived from salmon DNA, purified for medical use. Rather than filling a line or lifting a fold, PDRN is used to signal repair: supporting hydration, skin barrier quality, and the environment in which skin cells renew themselves. It has been used in regenerative medicine for years, and has more recently become one of the most discussed skin treatments in aesthetic clinics across Asia.
What can it address?
Because PDRN works at the level of skin quality rather than shape, it is typically considered for concerns such as dullness and dehydration, fine lines, uneven texture, and skin that looks tired rather than aged in any one spot. It is used on the face, the neck, and the under-eye area, regions where skin is thin, expressive, and often the first to show change.
Regeneration, not volume
This distinction matters when setting expectations. A filler produces a visible change in contour immediately. PDRN does not. Its work is gradual: skin tends to look better hydrated and more even over a course of sessions, in a way that reads as healthy rather than treated. Patients who want a dramatic single-visit change are usually better served by other options, and an honest consultation will say so.
What a course looks like
