PlasmaGlow is a skin rejuvenating treatment that employs a unique nitrogen plasma technology to provide consistent, controlled rapid heating over treated areas, stimulating collagen remodeling in deep tissue to regenerate and restore skin elasticity.

PlasmaGlow does not cause vaporization or charring of the skin at the time of treatment and this unique character of its treatment profile allows targeted treatment, leaving overlying epidermis intact.

PlasmaGlow delivers plasma energy in highly precise, controlled pulses to cause uniform rapid heating of tissue that stimulates a significant physiological response without creating an open wound. Between the Zone of Thermal Damage (ZTD) and the Zone of Thermal Modification (ZTM) is where neocollagenesis and neoelastogenesis takes place, with a depth that correlates to the adjustable level of energy delivered as pre-determined by the operator

How Does PlasmaGlow Work?

PlasmaGlow engages plasma energy, also known as the fourth state of matter to bring about its slew of skin benefits. Plasma energy is generated in the hand-piece through the conversion of inert nitrogen gas to a highly energized state by combining it with ultra-high frequency RF. Being non-fractionated and non-chromophore dependent by nature, this unique form of energy harvested allows adequate heating and uniform energy absorption of deep tissue without affecting surrounding tissues, ensuring consistent treatment and rapid healing of the treated area and its supporting structure.

Completely customizable, PlasmaGlow delivers controlled pulses with great precision that helps to regenerate new skin cells by ensuring uniform heating of deep tissue which in turn stimulates neocollagenesis and neoelastogenesis, rebuilding new stores to replace old damaged collagen and elastin.

At lower energy levels, the technology works on wrinkles, fine lines, pore size, stretch marks and even Actinic Keratoses, a form of pre-cancerous skin lesions. At higher energy levels, PlasmaGlow can effectively improve the appearance of photo-damaged skin, acne scarring, deeper wrinkles and skin pigmentation including melasma.

What Are the Benefits of PlasmaGlow?

“One of the key selling features of PlasmaGlow is that it’s entirely safe to use around the eye area which is often known to be tricky. It offers all round periorbital rejuvenation without any risk to the eye.”

Some of its skin benefits are as follow:

✓ Improves the appearance of both superficial fine lines and deep wrinkles with enhanced skin tone and effective skin tightening.
✓ High safety margin without any risk of injury to the eyes, providing exceptional all round periorbital rejuvenation by addressing fine under-eye lines, Crow’s Feet, dark eye circles and droopy eyelids. It can be safely applied to the upper and lower eyelids, as well as the wider periorbital region which is often difficult to treat, as other technologies failed to deliver consistent results or cannot be safely applied to these sensitive areas.

Clinical studies show significant tightening – Mean 22% improvement in upper eyelid tightening (JOCD 7, 169-179, 2008)

✓ Diminishes the appearance of any surface scarring including acne scars, old surgical scars and stretch marks.
✓ Targets unwanted pigmentation including sun spots, age spots and Melasma.
✓ Addresses Actinic Keratoses, a type of precancerous skin lesions.
✓ Treats active acne in selected cases.
✓ Clinical studies demonstrated long lasting effects with intense fibroblast activity supporting continued neocollagenesis and elastosis reduction for more than 12 months post treatment.

How Is the Procedure Like?

To enhance patient comfort, a thin layer of numbing cream may be applied onto the skin prior to treatment but most patients forego this step as they find the procedure virtually painless. The PlasmaGlow treatment is often described as a warm blast of air without any real discomfort experience even when treating sensitive areas such as the eyelids. Immediately post treatment, the treated skin may appear a little flushed or red.

What Kind Of Downtime Should I Expect?

Your skin may appear pink or red and you may experience some dryness following treatment. As the treated skin’s surface is not breached and remains intact, it is possible to cleanse and wear makeup immediately if so desired, allowing one to return to his or her routine activities with minimal disruption. This will usually resolve in 1 to 2 days’ time.

Depending on the settings which governs the intensity of treatment, there may be mild skin flaking over the next 24 hours. If you have an important event scheduled, we would recommend you to have the treatment at least a week prior to minimize the risk of these common side effects.

What Kind of Post Treatment Care Should I Be Aware Of?

As with most, if not all light and laser treatments, it is important to avoid unnecessary sun exposure and be adequately protected from any. Wear a broad spectrum sunscreen of SPF 50 or more to protect your skin during both the healing phase and for several months after treatment. When outdoors under direct sunlight, the use of an umbrella or wide brimmed-hat should be considered for added protection.

Get your doctor to review and assess your usual skin care regime. Following treatment, harsh ingredients such as retinol and fruit acids (AHAs/BHAs), commonly found in many anti-aging products, should be laid off for at least a week. Your skin may feel dryer than usual, keep it well hydrated at all times with a good moisturizer. If you are using products to tone down the redness, opt for non-comedogenic mineral makeup which will allow your skin to breathe and prevent pores from clogging during the healing phase.

How Many Sessions Do I Need?

Each person’s skin is unique, but clinical studies suggest that for most patients looking for improved texture and skin tightening with notice appreciable results after 3 to 5 sessions done regularly at 4 to 6 weeks’ intervals.

Results are accumulative and progressively evident with each subsequent treatment performed. Speak to our doctor(s) and find out more about relevant skinsaver programs which offer a comprehensive approach to your skin woes to give you the best possible result. To salvage hooded eyelids that have lost their sparkle, combine PlasmaGlow treatment with Eye Illuminator Program for a total rejuvenation of the eye area.
