What are Fractional Lasers?

Fractional lasers are advanced aesthetic devices that offer a range of benefits for clients seeking skin rejuvenation and improvement in various skin concerns. These lasers deliver precise, fractionated beams of light energy to the skin, targeting specific areas with microscopic columns of thermal damage.

The laser stimulates a healing response, promoting the production of new collagen and elastin. It renews the skin and improves overall texture, tone, and appearance. Let’s explore how fractional lasers can help clients in various ways.

Skin tightening:

Fractional lasers have a skin-tightening effect due to collagen and elastin production stimulation. The technology can help improve skin laxity and firmness, reducing sagging and promoting youthful facial contour.

Skin rejuvenation:

Fractional lasers are highly effective in rejuvenating the skin. They improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots, providing a more youthful and radiant complexion. The controlled heat energy generated by the laser stimulates collagen production, which helps to plump the skin and reduce the signs of ageing.

Scar reduction:

Fractional lasers can significantly reduce the appearance of scars, including acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks. The laser energy targets the scar tissue, promoting the growth of new skin cells and breaking down scar tissue, leading to smoother, more even-toned skin.

Texture improvement:

Fractional lasers can address uneven skin texture, roughness, and large pores. The controlled thermal damage stimulates collagen remodelling and the growth of fresh skin cells, resulting in smoother, softer skin with improved texture and reduced pore size.

Overall skin health:

Beyond specific concerns, fractional lasers can enhance overall skin health. The treatment encourages cell turnover, improves blood circulation, and promotes the elimination of toxins, resulting in a brighter, clearer complexion.

Airbrush Fx Dual Laser

Airbrush Fx Dual Laser kick-starts your skin’s natural rejuvenation processes for optimal skin rebirth.

Airbrush Fx Dual Laser addresses many different aspects of dermal aging, providing remarkable overall skin rejuvenation with minimal downtime.

Airbrush Fx Dual Laser is actually a two-in-one duo wavelengths (1550nm & 1927nm) laser system which can be used together or separately, customized to suit the varying needs and concerns of different individuals.

1550nm for Resurfacing

By inducing collagen remodeling, it helps to rebuild diminishing collagen stores over the next few months, leading to the reduced appearance of deep wrinkles and acne scars with an overall improvement in the skin tone.

1927nm for Pigmentation

Used to address sun-related textural imperfections, busting undesirable superficial pigmentation such as solar lentigines (sun spots), lentigines (age spots) and ephelides (freckles) for a flawless mien. This stronger laser helps to improve fine lines, texture, pores, and even targets pre-cancerous skin cells known as Actinic Keratosis.

What Are the Benefits of Airbrush Fx Dual Laser treatment?

Airbrush Fx Dual Laser treatment can be engaged as a primary or adjunct aesthetic treatment to combat the physical signs of aging or to age-proof yourself by keeping them in check. Some of the skin rejuvenating benefits of Airbrush Fx Dual Laser are as follows:

Study above showed that non-ablative fractional lasers (NAFL) are effective as third line therapy options ahead of intense pulsed light (IPL) and Q-switch NdYag Lasers)

How Does The Airbrush Fx Dual Laser Work?

Airbrush Fx Dual Laser uses fractional laser technology, which equates to faster healing time due to surrounding skin remaining intact

Airbrush Fx Dual Laser resurfaces your skin by stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin cells from the inside out.

By utilizing fractionated Airbrush Fx Dual Laser (1550nm), it targets aging and sun-damaged skin with highly precise microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into the dermis of the skin to stimulate collagen formation.

 Fraxel Laser Skin Layer Target

With each pulse, only a fraction of tissue is treated. The surrounding area which is left intact promotes faster skin healing, with significantly shortened recovery period and reduced downtime compared to traditional CO2 laser resurfacing techniques.

The added option of a Thulium fiber component allows dramatic correction to various pigmented skin lesions that cloud the complexion as the 1927nm wavelength is highly specific and effective against brown pigments found in abundance in sun damage lentigines (sun spots), age spots and freckles.

Fraxel Dual Laser Process

1. “Smart scanning” hand piece ensures consistency and safety 2. Fractional laser energies penetrate deep into dermis with calculated precision 3. Fractional light energy stimulates collagen and resurfaces the top skin layer 4. Collagen stimulation leads to natural rejuvenation process— smoothes wrinkles and scars

“Airbrush Fx Dual Laser is FDA approved and can be safely applied to effectively treat patients of all skin types. Its transformative skin benefits also extend to “off-face” areas such as the neck, decolletage, hands and just about any body parts that require a dermal reboot.”

How Is the Procedure Like?

A thin layer of numbing cream is applied onto the skin prior to treatment, and cold air is used during the procedure to cool down the treated area(s). Most patients describe the feeling of the Airbrush Fx Dual Laser treatment as an increased sensation of heat.

Immediately post treatment, your skin may appear pink or red and slightly swollen much like a sunburn. This sensation usually diminishes within a few hours and gradually disappears over the next day or two. Our patients in SW1 Clinic like to combine it with LED Red and Pearl Eclat facial add-on to speed up healing and enhance results.

What Kind of Downtime Do I Expect?

Day 1-2: For the first 24 hours, it is common to feel as though your skin is sunburnt, with redness and swelling that will gradually improve over the next day or two. Cleansing and wearing of makeup immediately is possible with no disruption to daily activities.

Day 3-5: The skin feels rough and over the next couple of days you may have mild flaky skin. For more intense sessions and depending on your healing process, flaking may continue for up to one week or more.

What Kind of Post Treatment Care Should I Be Aware Of?

As with most, if not all light and laser treatments, it is important to avoid unnecessary sun exposure and be adequately protected from any. Wear a broad spectrum sunscreen of SPF 50 or more to protect your skin during both the healing phase and for several months after treatment.

Avoid use of products containing harsh ingredients such as retinol and fruit acids (AHAs/BHAs); commonly found in many anti-aging products. It is ideal to keep skin well hydrated at all times with a suitable moisturizer.

How Many Sessions Do I Need?

For smoother skin and a reduction in prominence of wrinkles and scars, clinical studies suggest 3 to 5 sessions done regularly at 4 to 6 weeks’ intervals.

Results are accumulative and progressively evident with each subsequent treatment performed. For individuals dealing with skin pigmentation, depending on its severity and the pre-determined intensity of each treatment scheduled, satisfactory improvement for superficial blemishes (eg: sun spots, age spots, freckles) may be achieved after just 1 to 3 sessions. Due to the chronic, relapsing nature of the skin condition itself, Melasma on the other hand may require more sessions for appreciable clearance. In addition, the control of known risk factors with avid sun protection and avoidance of hormonal triggers play an important role in the maintenance of the positive effects achieved.
