How does ChromaLase work?

ChromaLase has a unique ability to deliver intense but gentle pulsed laser energy to selectively targeted blood vessels without adversely affecting the surrounding tissue.

Its revolutionary capability to increase pulse durations coupled with micro-pulse technology where 8 pulses closely mimic one continuous pulse, effectively reduces bruising and patient downtime through a gentle heating effect and uniform coagulation. The body then absorbs the treated blood vessels during the natural healing process.

ChromaLase comes complete with a cooling system that sprays cool liquid onto the skin before each laser pulse to ensure a comfortable solution to skin redness and pigmentation.

What is the Procedure like? Is there any downtime?

ChromaLase penetrates deep into skin, causing blood within the vessel to coagulate before disintegrating.

Each treatment takes about half an hour. An anesthetic cream is applied to the area to ensure maximal comfort. A protective eye shield is then put on for you. Each pulse of laser is delivered with a spray of cool air to protect the outer skin and provide comfort, making the procedure virtually painless.

There is minimal downtime after the treatment – you can apply makeup immediately after if needed and continue with your normal activities.

Am I a suitable candidate for this procedure?

Although this gentle laser is safe even for a baby or child, it is best suited for lighter skin types or untanned skin. Darker skin or skin that has a tan should not undergo this laser. Speak to our doctors to find out if you are suitable for this laser treatment.

How many treatments are needed?

The number of treatments will depend on:

– desired degree of improvement
– your hormonal status
– area being treated
– medication (which may affect your existing skin condition)

On average, treatment can be done every 2-4 weeks. For removal of broken capillaries or veins, you may need 2-4 sessions. For clearance of acne and red acne scars, you may need approximately 6 sessions for optimal effect. How effective is ChromaLase?

Small Spider Veins: Highly effective for treating small spider veins while sclerotherapy is best reserved for larger veins.
