Use the correct cleanser

This sounds basic enough and it should be. Know your skin type and use a cleanser that serves its purpose of cleaning your skin without irritating it or exacerbating skincare concerns.

For oily or acne-prone skin, look for cleansers with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in it. If you are dealing with dry mature skin, a milky cleanser or ingredients such as glycolic acid are ones to look out for.

Keep your skincare routine simple

When it comes to skincare routines, less is more. Layering too many products on your skin can be too harsh and cause more breakouts and clogged pores.

Hydrate inside and out

Hydration for skin is not to be overlooked. When skin is well hydrated, it shows and glows. Besides relying only on skincare products to hydrate your skin, it’s important that you drink at least 1.8 litres of water a day.  Your skin will be sure to thank you for this.

Exfoliate regularly

We lose up to 50 million skin cells a day, imagine that pile of dead skin cells sitting on top of your skin, it’s bound to affect your skin’s lustre. Help your skin out a little by regularly exfoliating once or twice a week. This not only helps to slough off dead skin cells, it allows your glow to come through. Don’t just limit exfoliation to your face, the skin on your body needs a little TLC too!

Boost skin’s resilience

These days aesthetic treatments aren’t just for treating wrinkles, lines and sagging faces. There are treatments available that can treat deep tissues which in turn improve overall skin health and resilience.

LDM Triple is one such treatment and is not at all painful as it sounds. In fact, this is a very comfortable treatment that uses ultrasound to work in the superficial layer, dermis and even the border between the dermis and subcutis to rejuvenate the skin.

The result after such a treatment is firmer, tighter skin with a complementary glow.

Sunscreen 365 days a year

Sunscreen is a must and whether you’re indoors or outdoors, whether it’s summer or winter, be sure to be diligent with your sunscreen. Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV rays which can speed up the ageing process. No one wants that!

Use one that has at least SPF30 and offers broad spectrum protection and to reapply every 2 hours.
